Getting to Nepal

The main entry point is Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM) in Kathmandu. Major airlines including Qatar Airways, Emirates, Air India, and Turkish Airlines connect Kathmandu to global hubs. There are no direct flights from the USA or Europe — connections via Middle East or Indian cities are most common. By land, Nepal shares borders with India and China. Popular overland crossings from India include Sunauli (for Pokhara), Raxaul (for Kathmandu), and Kakarbhitta (for eastern Nepal). The Kodari crossing with Tibet is only open for organized tours.
